BACK BEACH WHITE ALE

4.6% ABV
Synonymous with the highly revered coastline of our area and indeed our entire country, the back beach is that hidden secret spot we all love to visit. It's all about relaxation and enjoyment - much like our refreshingly unique white ale.

This light and crisp wheat beer is driven by Belgian yeast, offering hints of spice and wheat phenolics and has just the perfect hint of tartness and balanced malty sweetness. Its clean and thick foamy head makes it the perfect thirst quencher that will see you doubling down for another tall glass.

VILLAGER'S PALE ALE

5.1% ABV
From Byron, to Bangalow and beyond, the lush hinterland is made up of a series of small villages, each with their own unique offerings. Our Villager’s Pale is made by the locals, for the locals and visitors alike.

An approachable session beer, our Pale is the perfect balance of new world hops, supported by a pleasing maltiness with a presence of citrus, resinous pine notes and just a slight hint of aniseed. This is a beer that you’ll always return to for its perfect combination of aromatics, smooth bitterness and satisfying malts.

BRONZE MEDAL WINNER: AIBAs 2023

PROTESTERS IPA

6.2% ABV
Located an hour’s drive from the brewery, the stunning Protesters Falls are so named as a group of locals lobbied in 1979 against a large area of state forest being logged. The protest is regarded as a watershed moment in Australia's environmental movement and cited as the first time people physically defended a natural resource. The area is now part of the World Heritage listed Nightcap National Park and will be preserved for future generations to appreciate.

Our IPA pays homage to this landmark movement by packing its own punch, with an intense hop profile of zesty fruits and tropical notes. This aromatically driven beer is balanced out by a strong bitterness and a subtle malty finish that allows the combination of the new world hops to display their full character.

SILVER MEDAL WINNER: AIBAs 2023

HELLES HOLE LAGER

4.5% ABV
This is our take on the traditional German Helles lager, with “Helles” meaning bright or light in colour. The play on words pays a cheeky nod to a hidden and treacherous local swimming spot in the nearby hills, yet another natural wonder in their neck of the woods. The use of light pilsner malts fermented for an extended time produces a clean lager with a soft finish which is carried through by a robust bitterness.

Traditional German hops provide subtle notes of spice, and finishing at 4.5% in alcohol, the well-balanced Helles Hole has pleased all the lager enthusiasts out there.

5.9% ABV

Fortune favours the brave!

SPICY BOI CHILLI MARGARITA CERVEZA

4.9% ABV
spice up your life with Spicy Boi - our hottest creation yet. This cerveza is brewed with malted corn which provides a subtle sweetness and we’ve added all the ingredients of a refreshing margarita. We’re talking zesty limes, salt and hints of agave. But with a Common People twist, we're bringing the heat all the way to your bones with the addition of some fresh Habanero chillies.

Our Summer seasonal has got bite, but at an ABV of 4.9%, it won’t send you sideways!

WRECK OF THE BAY DIPA

7.6% ABV
For over 100 years it has been sitting behind the breakers, just north of Byron Bay's Main Beach. Mostly submerged, with some parts rising above the surface, The Wreck is an unmistakable icon, sculpting the coastal landscape. To some it's a surf break, to others a snorkelling site, a place to hone your diving skills, or a swimming adventure. The Wreck is a BIG part of Byron Bay and we've created a BIG beer in its honour. This style originated on the West Coast of the USA and is a favourite of the craft beer industry. Made with a mixture of grains, including seldom seen quinoa, Wreck of The Bay has been infused with African pepper “Grains of Paradise”, giving a floral and spicy finish to this beer. Triple dry-hopped offering a huge nose and pallet of citrus and ripened tropical fruits. A complex creation balanced to perfection.

SILVER MEDAL WINNER: AIBAs 2023

Like last year, we have brewed a special batch beer available exclusively in our tasting room and at the festival. This year, we present the Take Two Fruity XPA.

It’s bright in colour and crisp in flavour with a fruity and fabulous taste to match the exquisite line up of films in this years’ program. You’ll taste a full tropical fruit basket in this one, with notes of mango, pineapple, grapefruit, peach, lychee and more.

Take Two is best enjoyed in front of the fabulous films screening at BFF.

And that’s a wrap!

PARADISE CIRCUS BELGIAN SINGLE

6.1% ABV
Roll up, roll up! Introducing the aptly named Paradise Circus as there is a lot going on in this number. Taking the stage in the first act includes Belgian yeast which offers a complexity of sweetness and phenolic spice.

The second act is a mass of rolled oats and wheat in the mix offering a hazy, silky smoothness. For the grand finale, African 'Grains of Paradise' pepper adding to flavours of citrus, floral jasmine and hints of hazelnut.

Grab yourself a Paradise Circus and enjoy the show!

RAIL TRAIL HAZY PALE

4.3% ABV
This latest creation is an approachable session hazy. Light on the alc so that you can jump back on the bike and hit the trail... when the rail trail comes to fruition, that is!

Hop varieties of Azzacca and Galaxy give a pleasant mix of tropical fruits mixed with citrus. On the palate, it’s particularly spicy with mango, passionfruit, pineapple and some pine, with tangerine-esque qualities evident.

Finished with a dose of lactose to give a silky smooth balance between sweetness, fruit and bitterness.

BLACK FOREST SOUR

4.9% ABV
As indulgent as the name suggests, this kettle soured creation has all the fresh fruits you're accustomed to in your black forest cake with masses of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries from our friends at Blueberry Fields in Brooklet. We've then added cherries and strawberries for good measure.

This sour is a perfect harmony of tart and sweet fruit accentuated by the saison yeast imparting its own fruit to this orchestra of flavour. A hint of lactose gives that smooth as silk touch on the palette.

The iridescent purple colour and intense fruity aroma will leave you with no doubt of what is about to delight the taste buds. Indulge yourself!

ANKLE BITER CALIFORNIA COMMON

3.5% ABV
Paying homage to founders’ eight kids who have clocked some serious hours at the brewery while their parents worked furiously to open the doors, the Ankle Biter is also a tribute to our fearless GM who suffered a nasty burn on his leg when brewing this beer. This full body California Common (Steam Ale) is brewed with lager yeast and fermented at ale temperatures.

The result offers the formation of a big ester profile. Late hopping of Amarillo produces citrusy orange and grapefruit notes on the nose and palate. Big on the residual malt and bitterness you would be forgiven for thinking this is a full strength beer but at an ABV of 3.5%, you can head back to the bar for another.

BRONZE MEDAL WINNER: AIBAS 2023

BIT FRESH! COLD IPA

6.5% ABV
A Cold IPA? What is a cold IPA exactly?

A cold IPA is a dry, crisp, clean IPA that hearkens back to the type of IPAs that were fully hop-forward. In other words, our Bit Fresh! Cold IPA showcases both the bittering potential of hops as well as their flavourful oils against a simple grist backdrop of barley and malted corn.

The clean backdrop is achieved by using a lager yeast in place of an ale strain. Although it is fermented warmer than your usual lager, it is fermented colder than a normal ale, hence the name - cold IPA.

The ripened fruit and citrus characteristics from the Ekuanot, Eclipse and Citra hops shine through and finish with a robust bitterness and a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. All of this keeps things as fresh as a cool Winter’s morning on a hot Summer’s day.

Bit Fresh! They say…

Join us for a cold one.
