Bangalow lies in the heart of the Byron Hinterland, a picturesque, palm filled town with plenty of offerings to eat, drink and shop.
Here are some fun facts about our lil' village that you might not know;
- The town name is derived from Bangalla, named by the traditional custodians of the land, the Arakwal people
- Bangalow is home to the annual "Bangalow Billy Cart Derby", where home made billy carts are raced down the main street hill, much to spectators delight
- If you were born and raised in the Northern Rivers like us, the jingle for Abracadbra will be wedged firmly in your brain. With the "biggest bunch of baskets under the sun" the store with something for everyone opened its doors in 1973 and remains part of the Bangalow landscape
There's plenty to see and explore in and around Bangalow, not to mention a brand new craft brewery!
